AdMob Raises $ 15.7 Million in Series C Funding to Grow Worldwide Leadership in Mobile Advertising : AdMob Triples Number of Ads Served in the Past Year and Expands Network to Include More Than 6,000 Publishers

SAN MATEO, Calif. & LONDON (PRWEB) October 21, 2008

Fueled by this funding, AdMob will make significant strategic investments to increase the company’s clear lead in mobile advertising, including:

Accelerating the growth of worldwide operations by hiring local staff in key markets and adding new language interfaces, with an emphasis in Western Europe, India, South Africa and Japan Deepening the investment in the company’s mobile technology platform, including its targeting, optimization and ad serving algorithm Expanding the breadth of offerings for both publishers and advertisers Increasing leadership position in the U.S. by growing AdMob’s sales and business development teams “Today AdMob reaches more consumers on their mobile phones through our publisher network than any of the major Internet portals or search services, and this is just the beginning,” said Omar Hamoui, Founder and CEO, AdMob. “We chose to raise this new round of funding to continue to grow both the mobile advertising market and AdMob’s clear advantage in it by investing in the technology, operations and team that have set the bar for the mobile industry.”

AdMob also announced its publisher network now includes more than 6,000 partners worldwide, giving it an unmatched scale. New publishers in 2008 include MySpace and MovieTickets.com.

“AdMob has surpassed the largest names in digital advertising to become the world’s biggest mobile ad network in just two short years,” said Jim Goetz, Partner, Sequoia Capital. “AdMob has tapped into the exploding market of publishers creating great mobile content for consumers and the advertisers eager to interact with those engaged users. AdMob is well capitalized and has achieved cash flow positive results, giving them a unique opportunity in this difficult economic climate to aggressively capture market share. They have some of the same qualities that we saw in Google, Yahoo!, YouTube and Apple, including their exceptional team and powerful technology platform.”

AdMob also continues to see a steep increase in the number of brand and performance advertisers running campaigns on its network, with especially strong demand for iPhone inventory. In September 2008, AdMob ran more than 25 campaigns for brand advertisers including CoverGirl, Toshiba, and Comedy Central.

Rapid development and improvement in El Salvador’s Telecoms industry attributed to Privatisation.

Rapid development and improvement in El Salvador’s Telecoms industry attributed to Privatisation.

(PRWEB) November 20, 2003

Research and Markets announces the addition of the 2003 Telecommunications and Information Highways in Latin America to their offerings.

Key statistics and market overviews are provided for each of the countries in Latin America as well as discussing their regulatory environments, infrastructure and the major players in each market.

Mexico is a rapidly growing market and one of the regions largest economies, but with a teledensity of only 14%, there is a great potential for investment. A long awaited broad overhaul of the 1995 Telecommunications Law with a restructuring of the telecoms regulator Cofetel has started. Predictions indicate, the communications services revenues will expand at a CAGR of 12.4%, to reach US$ 30 billion by the end of 2005.

El Salvador’s telecommunications market has been one of the most vibrant and fastest growing in Latin America since its telecoms system was privatised in 1997. By May 2002, El Salvador had 709,394 phone lines installed with a teledensity of 11%. With 1,004,448 mobile subscribers in September 2002, El Salvador is the largest market in Central America. The country has a stable economic environment, and an open trade and investment environment. Economic growth although solid, has been disappointing.

Telecommunications infrastructure in Guatemala is among the least developed in Latin America with a fixed network teledensity of only 6.5%. Wireless technology is making up for this with the highest teledensity rate in Central America. Heavy competition exists between the four operators, giving the people of Guatemala the best available wireless services at very competitive prices. The estimation is for wireless numbers to reach 2 million by 2005.

Access to telecommunications services in Honduras remains well below the Latin American average. The installed telephone network capacity in November 2001 was 415,131 lines, with 310,617 lines in service. Line penetration for the entire country is 63%, with 4.6 telephone lines per one hundred inhabitants. Privatisation of the telecommunications sector remains incomplete and the sale and reform of the state telecommunications entity Hondutel has been postponed. The National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel), an independent regulatory agency was created for the telecommunications sector.

Nicaragua has one of the lowest number of telephones per capita in the hemisphere. Government owned Empresa Nicaragüense de Telecomunicaciones (Enitel) is the country’s monopoly operator for all voice services as well as leased lines and telex services. Nicaragua has not yet opened its basic services to competition, full liberalisation of the market may occur in 2004. Competition has entered the mobile market after years of an almost virtual monopoly by BellSouth. Enitel and América Móvil (PCS Digital) launched service in December 2002. Mobile subscriber numbers reached 181,575 in June 2002 and basic fixed-lines installed reached 153,630.

Caribbean countries are deregulating their telecommunication markets. Incumbent operators have begun to lower prices and modernise and expand their networks as competition comes to the markets. Cable & Wireless have held monopolies in the Caribbean for decades but are increasingly coming under pressure to give up these monopolies. The company has invested heavily in the region especially in mobile and Internet services, and with revenues rising and competition increasing, the area is showing great potential for investment.

Puerto Rico is one of the most advanced and fastest-growing telecommunications market in the region. Since the Puerto Rico Telecommunications Act of September 1996, some 233 telecommunications companies have commenced operations on the island.

Telecommunications continues to be a leading growth sector in the Dominican Republic economy with growth of around 29% in the first quarter 2002. Telecommunications in the Dominican Republic is one of the fastest growing and most competitive industry sectors, but still only 11% of the Dominican population has access to a telephone, and less than 2% has access to an Internet connection and only 16% owns a mobile phone. Major telecommunication companies include Compañia Dominicana de Teléfonos (Codetel), Tricom, Centennial and France Telecom.

M1 redefines the meaning of “unlimited”

A few nice mobile advertising networks images I found:

M1 redefines the meaning of “unlimited”
mobile advertising networks

Mobile data services (GPRS and 3G) are absurdly overpriced in Singapore, and no telco is moving to provide value to customers. Singaporeans have to suck it up and fork out 0 for most "unlimited" GPRS services.

M1 actually has the gall to advertise an "unlimited" service, with a 1gb limit neatly hidden in the terms & conditions which most people don’t bother to read. Nowhere in the main promotional pages is this limit mentioned.

A phone call to their customer service officers indicates that they will give you a phone call if you do exceed 1gb, or use their network in any way or fashion that M1 decides is unacceptable.

By the way, Webster’s dictionary defined "unlimited" as "lacking any controls: unrestricted."

Aweber Vs. Mailchimp: Which Is Better For Email Campaigns

Published by admin on June 27, 2011
aweber
by Joel Mark Witt

As an Internet Marketer you are probably always on the look out for a way to run your campaigns more efficiently and cost effectively. No online business is going to be successful without traffic and one of the best ways to get that traffic is with an effective email marketing campaign. The use of auto responders and list builders has become a standard practice. The top two are Aweber and MailChimp. If you want to know which one may be better for you read on to see a comparison of some of the most important features. Then you can judge for yourself.

The attraction to MailChimp initially will be the fact that unlike Aweber it is free to join. They offer a great free trial for emailing up to 500 of their subscribers. For people with little start up capital this is a great way to start. Aweber will cost to join and the trial period is quite short then it jumps to .99 a month.

Design tools are an important part of email marketing. If you are a good web designer then MailChimp will be a place for you to make your own forms entirely from scratch. They also have a GUI tool for beginners with no experience to use. This tool allows you to make very professional looking pop-ups and other designs. The templates are great.

Aweber is not that user friendly for those of us who like to be creative. In order to add a personal touch to any design you have to a bit code breaking. This takes up valuable time. Some of their pop-up code will not work with all web browsers which means you will have to manually change a few thing in the code to get the best results. For a novice this would be impossible to do.

Another feather in the MailChimp cap is their flexible interface for designing HTML emails. They will even host the images for you. That being said the one flaw in all this greatness was the fact that it is a lot slower than Aweber because of its UI.

Finally one of the things that becomes important as you become more experienced as an email marketer is the ability to track your numbers. With Aweber the tracking is phenomenal, you can tell who opened it and what links they clicked on. MailChimp uses a rudimentary system reminiscent of the way you received gold stars in kindergarten. They place a star by the names of subscribers that open the email and nothing more. in this they definitely lose the edge to Aweber.

Conclusion For a new email marketer who really doesn’t know how to do all the things necessary to run a good looking campaign, or don’t have a big budget the MailChimp will be a good place to start. More experienced and established marketers would do better at Aweber.
